Classics Conference at SHS

 classics conference On Wednesday 20 March almost thirty A Level Latinists enjoyed a day of university-style tuition provided by Nottingham University's Classics Department.

The annual Conference, which has been held for over forty years, took place at Stamford High School, and was organised by Mrs Vivienne Wilson, a Classics teacher at the School, who commented: 'We were very pleased to be able to welcome students and teachers from Spalding Grammar and Wellingborough School, and are hoping to extend the invitation to other schools next year.'

The programme included sessions on the AS and A2 set texts, as well as a PowerPoint presentation on The Ancient City of Rome, and a question and answer session on the value of Classics at both school and university.
