Joséphine's Pitch Perfect!
Stamford Junior School pupil, Joséphine Vie Y6, is flourishing in her musical achievements and will be joining Stamford High School in September as a Music Scholar. Since she was in Year 3, Joséphine has taken 8 music exams in violin and piano, and she has achieved a distinction in every one.
Currently, Joséphine is working towards her grade 4 in piano and her next violin exam will be grade 6 which is an exceptional achievement for an 11 year old.
Since September, she has also added another string to her bow and become an accomplished singer. She should be able to take her Grade 5 Singing Exam within the next six months.
Joséphine has also recently performed at the SES Spring Concert where she played Sarabande by Carl Bohm from memory on her violin.
Violin Teacher at the Stamford Endowed Schools, Liz Taylor, said; “Josephine has a natural talent on the violin and works extremely hard. This has resulted in Josephine achieving distinction marks for all her violin exams, most recently in her Grade 5 exam. She is a pleasure to teach as she is always enthusiastic in lessons and loves learning new repertoire. I am very proud of her achievements.”
