SES Bands’ Concert on Thursday

For many the most eagerly anticipated concert of the year, this year’s SES Band’s Concert is this Thursday (23rd May.)

SS Hall - 19:30 – No ticket required.

This popular concert is a showcase for the brass and wind from Stamford Junior School through to the most senior students. Highlights in this year’s programme will include We will rock you by Queen performed by the Junior School Jazz Band, the second movement of English Folk Song Suite by Vaughan Williams, performed by Concert Band, Gershwin’s American in Paris performed by the SES Wind Band and In the mood performed by the SES Big Band.

There are soloists too. Rachael Cawte will be singing Fly me to the moon with the Big Band. Rachael will take up a place at York University next year. It will also be the last chance to hear Hajnal Miklossy performing the Violin solo in Theme from Schindler’s List with the Concert Band before she takes up a place at Chetham’s School of Music next year.

This will be a wonderful concert with toe tapping tunes aplenty. We really hope you can join us.
