Brothers win awards after incredible cricket season
Two brothers from Stamford School, Sam Evison (Y11) and Joey Evison (Y7), both won awards at the recent Lincolnshire County Cricket Board Presentation evening.
Joey won the batting award for the 2013 County U12 team, despite the fact he was playing a year out of his own age-group as an U11. He was the leading run-scorer with 482 runs in 12 matches at an average of 80 runs per match. He scored two centuries during the season, 103 not out against Cambridgeshire and 102 not out against Nottinghamshire. Joey also made two unbeaten half-centuries.
Sam won both the batting and bowling awards for the County U15 team. He was the leading run-scorer with 286 runs in 8 matches at an average of 35 with a top score of 84 against Northumberland. Bowling off-spin, he was also the county's leading wicket-taker with 16 wickets with a best return of 4-27 against Lancashire. Fantastic achievements from both Stamford School students!
