Sailing Team Deliver Talk for Rutland Sailability
The SES Sailing team visited Rutland Sailability earlier this month where they delivered a talk about their experiences in the Tall Ships Race over the summer. The talk was very well received by the 40 or so disabled sailors who came to meet the crew and hear what they had accomplished.
The disabled sailors are not able to do much sailing in the winter weather and the weekly social meetings on Thursdays, that they have instead, is for some of them the only opportunity they have to get out of the house and to socialise.
Andrew Crookell, SES Sailing Captain, said: “The students did the Schools proud, speaking articulately and with passion about their experiences. Well done to all.”
