Large Crowds Enjoy Sport Bash

Just under 1800 people attended Sport Bash at Stamford School last week and spectators were blessed with fabulous weather.

On the first day of the two day sports extravaganza the All Stars XI, including names such as Simon Jones, Neil Fairbrother and Gladstone Small treated the crowd to glorious strokes eventually making 186 for 6. The local Legends XI gave a valiant chase with John Meadows, a former pupil, scoring a quick fire 52 from only 17 balls. The Legends eventually ended up on 162 for 6.

The following day saw Tigers XI vs Saints XI perform with entertaining stars such as Freddie Tuilagi. The match came down to the last over but just like the premiership, Saints narrowly sneaked the victory.

Both days supported a charity with Thorpe Hall Hospice and Matt Hampson Foundation benefitting from over £30,000. Matt Hampson kindly pledged that his Foundation will give all monies raised to Junior School pupil Seb Goold and his family.

Burghley Images were the official photographers for the event and they have also kindly offered to give all profits from photos ordered to Seb Goold. Photos can be ordered and viewed via sportbash.co.uk

Organisers, DCR Events Ltd would like to hear any comments regarding the event via info@dcrevents.co.uk, in order to formulate if a plan can be compiled for next year.
