Recent Leaver Signed for County Cricket Club

Zak Chappell Leciestershire CricketRecent Stamford School leaver, Zak Chappell, has signed a senior contract with Leicestershire County Cricket Club.

Zak has been working with Leicestershire age group squads over the years, but has found himself on the fringes due to injury. His final year at Stamford School coincided with his return to bowling fitness and increasing form with the bat. The young all-rounder scored 667 runs at an average of 44.47 and took 18 wickets at an average of 15.2.

Dean Headley, Cricket Professional at Stamford School, said: “Zak is an extremely talented all-rounder who should relish the opportunity this will bring. He has progressed through the school but really flourished in his last two seasons. I am sure if he works hard, Zak will progress quickly in the professional ranks.”

David Jackson, Master in Charge of Cricket at Stamford School, said: “Zak has displayed ability throughout his school career, but his performances on the field were initially blighted by injury. I am sure that with continued hard work, Zak will use the opportunity he has earned to fully showcase his talent with bat and ball at the highest level. I would like to wish him the best of luck.”
