stamford school u14 hockey, regionalOn 27th January, Stamford School’s U14 hockey team travelled to Lincoln Minster School for the Lincolnshire county round of the Hockey Association’s National Cup competition.

The Stamford boys started their first fixture against The Priory School very well and scored in the first 30 seconds through Joey Evison. Stamford controlled the game from the start and came away with a comprehensive 7-0 win.

Stamford School continued their success into the second game against Lincoln Minster as Will Leech beat the majority of the Lincoln defence to place a powerful strike into the top left corner. Once again Stamford controlled the game throughout and ran out 10-0 winners with Will Leech scoring a double hat trick.

As county champions, Stamford School now travel to Bedford on 26th February for the regional tournament, with a top two finish seeing the boys qualifying for a national finals tournament, a feat which has not been achieved by any Stamford School team.
