Recognition for Stamford School Rugby Stars

Six players from the first XV who have been called up to representative squadsSix members of the Stamford School First XV have been rewarded for their on- the-pitch progress with call-ups for representative squads.

The First XV is currently unbeaten, having won eight out of eight fixtures this season, and have progressed through to the third round of the prestigious Daily Mail Cup. Will Bacon and Justin Bland have been selected to play for Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire, and Derbyshire (NLD) under18s and Angus Green has been selected to represent Leicestershire. It should be fun when they meet each other on the field of battle! Three other members of the squad - Tom Gulland, Ethan Moss and Captain Louis Grimoldby - have been selected to join the Northampton Saints Academy.

First XV Coach David Laventure was full of praise for the boys; “They have worked really hard and their performances this season have been outstanding. I think the school tour to New Zealand last summer helped to give them the springboard they needed. I am sure they will do themselves proud.”
