Boys qualify to run for county
Three boys from Stamford School have qualified to run for Lincolnshire at the Anglian Cross-Country Championships after competing at the County Championships in Spalding at the weekend.
This follows a strong overall performance at the district championships hosted in Burghley Park in November, where a record seventeen boys from Stamford School qualified to run for South Kesteven in Spalding.
Of the qualifiers, Year 13 student Patrick Conboy, captain of the cross-country team, came in tenth place in the senior race, while Year 12 pupil Taylor Irving finished eleventh.
In the intermediate race, Year 11 pupil Chris Allison finished an impressive third to win a medal. Chris will be hoping to follow last year’s performance where he competed up to the National Championships.
The boys will now be running in Lincolnshire colours at the Anglian Cross-Country Championships on Saturday 4th February.
