International Rugby Player Visits Schools
Pupils at the Stamford Endowed Schools had a special visit from Russian international rugby player Vasily Artemyev at the end of term.
The visit, organised by the Modern Languages Department, saw Northampton Saints player Vasily join the pupils for a mixture of language and sporting activities.
In the morning, the Under 14 rugby team was able to benefit from Vasily’s expertise during a coaching session and in the afternoon, Russian language students were able to practice their language conversation skills with him during a Question and Answer session.
Caroline Wray, Head of Russian at Stamford School, said “We’re very grateful to Vasily for coming in and sharing his cultural and sporting expertise with the pupils.”
