Stamford Student to Represent his Country

 James Cameron BasketballStamford School celebrate their first international call up of 2013 as Basketball Captain, James Cameron Y12, has been selected for the Wales Under 18 team. James has been an integral part of Stamford School Basketball squad for the last four seasons and top scorer for the last two, which have seen the squad go unbeaten. 

Stamford School Head of Basketball, Mr Garry Mitchell, was pleased: “James has worked really hard and deserves his opportunity; it is a great experience for any sportsman to play internationally.”

The Wales squad travel to the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) European Tournament in the summer, but their first clash will be with Spain, France and Italy in Luxembourg at Easter. James added: “It is a huge honour to represent my country and it is the culmination of hours of hard work. There is a lot of work to come as we strive for a medal finish in the Euros competition, which would be a dream come true.”
