Chloe Moves up the Rankings

Stamford High School pupil, Chloe Sidwell Y13, is continuing to move up the women’s UK badminton rankings after her latest Senior Bronze tournament.

Chloe Sidwell is currently ranked 79th nationally though her ranking is set to improve significantly in the coming weeks after she won the Bedfordshire tournament last weekend. Chloe was victorious in all her games leading up to the final, and she then went on to beat Erin Parkes (Kent) in the final. She also played in the doubles tournament where she was crowned runner up. You can see Chloe’s results in the singles competition below:

1st Game V Lizzie Rumble won 21-7, 21-13
2nd Games V Charlotte Lane won 21-7, 21-11
3rd Game V Caroline Cooper won 21-7, 21-10
Final V Erin Parkes 20-22, 21-18, 21-5

Although Chloe’s exact ranking has not yet been confirmed, it is expected that she will be ranking in the 60’s which is astonishing for a 17 year old.

Head of PE at Stamford High School, Heidi Myles, said “We are extremely proud of Chloe’s achievements and wish her success in her next Senior Bronze tournament on 23rd February in Solihull.”
