Leon Represents Cambridgeshire in Tennis

Stamford Junior School pupil, Leon Kewney Y5, represented Cambridgeshire in a recent tennis U10 county cup competition.

Leon Kewney along with his doubles partner, Zac Cox, played the first match against Bedfordshire and won 5-4, 4-2 giving Cambridgeshire the overall win. The boys then went on to play Suffolk and unfortunately after a tough battle they lost the match 4-1, 5-3. Despite their disappointment, Leon played exceptionally well and contributed to a fantastic team effort enabling Cambridgeshire to finish as runners-up overall.

Stamford Junior School teacher, Fiona Sampson, said: “Leon is a superb tennis player and very passionate about his game. I have said to him on many occasions that I expect to be watching him at Wimbledon one day.”
