Foundation & Alumni

The Foundation Lectures

The Foundation Lectures are delivered by external speakers who are both prominent and expert in their particular fields. They are typically free of charge and pupils, parents, staff, alumni and members of the local community are all welcome to attend them. Our hope is that the resulting questions and debates will continue well beyond the lecture hall and into classrooms and homes.

The Lectures are delivered by a wide range of speakers and have to date included Rory Stewart MP, Louise Mensch, Colin Dexter, Dr Mike Leahy, Dr Kevin Fong, Professor AC Grayling, Kate Adie, Richard Watson, Dr Suzannah Lipscomb and Will Gompertz.

In 2016, we welcome Simon Singh for a lecture on 'The Simpsons and Their Mathematical Secrets'. We also look forward to hearing Levison Wood, bestselling author, explorer and photographer, describing his Himalayan walk and journey through five countries.
