Age 13 (Common Entrance)

common entrance entry, stamford schoolPupils who sit Common Entrance will enter the Stamford Endowed Schools in Year 9. If you are interested in a Year 9 place for your child please request a prospectus or get in touch with the Admissions Team. Your current Head will also be able to advise you on the process for admission.

A visit to the Schools, either on an Open Day, a Discovery Morning or on a personal visit, should be your first step and we would be delighted to make the arrangements.

Once you have decided to register your child with us, we will be in regular communication with your child's Prep School about arrangements for assessments, scholarships and taster days. We recommend that you register your interest in the Schools by the time your child is in Year 6, although we will consider later registrations.

Alongside their Common Entrance examinations we will also ask your child to undertake a verbal reasoning paper for our own internal benchmarking.

Offers of a place at the Stamford Endowed Schools will be made on the basis of your child's performance in the entrance assessments in conjunction with a report from their current school.

We welcome any questions so please don’t hesitate to contact our admissions office.
