Welland House provides boarding for girls aged 11-16.
Welland House, only a two-minute walk away from Stamford High School and a ten-minute walk from the centre of Stamford, enjoys a beautiful private garden to the rear and views of the tree-lined River Welland to the front.
Welland is headed by the resident Housemistress. She is supported in the daily running of the house by the Assistant Housemistress, Matron and a team of house tutors. Together the house staff encourage each girl to develop her personal happiness, academic achievement, individuality and independence.
There are 12 bedrooms, each accommodating between 2 and 5 girls. For the older girls, there are study bedrooms which sleep 2. On the ground floor, the house has 2 sitting rooms, each with a television (including satellite facilities), DVDs, a library, table tennis and a piano. There is a quiet reading area in the hall with a selection of daily newspapers. There is Wi-Fi throughout the house.
There is a wide range of after school and Saturday morning activities for the girls to enjoy as well as a regular and varied programme of Sunday outings which take place after Chapel and lunch shared with the boarders from the wider community of Stamford Endowed Schools.
