Welland House provides boarding for girls aged 12-16.
Welland House, only a two-minute walk away from Stamford High School and a ten-minute walk from the centre of Stamford, enjoys a beautiful private garden to the rear and views of the tree-lined River Welland to the front.
Emmanuelle Kerbrat - a teacher at Stamford High School - leads a team of friendly and committed staff, some of whom are residential. All are dedicated to the well-being of the girls in their care.
The girls in Welland are aged between 12 and 16, Years 8 to 11 respectively. The Year 8-11 girls typically share spacious rooms with up to 3 or 4 other girls of the same age. The Year 11 girls have double study bedrooms in a separate area. All of the rooms are bright and comfortably furnished and each of the girls’ areas has its own bathroom and shower facilities. There is a resident member of staff on each of the three floors of the house.
The girls enjoy full use of two common rooms where they can play table tennis or pool, play the piano, use the House Library or watch TV, including SKY. There is also a kitchen for evening drinks and snacks. The well–equipped Computer Room is used during supervised prep as well as for recreation, the girls having full access to the School system, internet and email.
There is a wide range of after school and Saturday morning activities for the girls to enjoy as well as a regular and varied programme of Sunday outings which take place after Chapel and lunch shared with the boarders from the wider community of Stamford Endowed Schools.
