Stamford Junior School

School Nurses & Welfare

The School has full time nursing cover throughout the school day. This is provided by two fully trained nurses. The Welfare room is situated in the centre of the school providing easy and open access for all children. Welfare offers open surgeries for assessment and treatment of minor ailments, first aid, advice and health promotion linked with the PSE (Personal and Social Education) curriculum. The school nurses are qualified to administer prescribed medication with parental permission, and in emergencies will contact parents and accompany children to hospital.

The school nurses work closely with St Michael’s boarding staff and the school doctor to create a happy and healthy environment for the boarders.
