Charity Projects in India - Team Two
Team four worked in a very small primary school at Phyang, which is about a forty minutes drive outside of Leh. They firstly had to clean up the walls, sand down the window frames and fill any holes in the plaster, before tackling the painting. In all two classrooms and a corridor were re-painted and decorated with pictures to help the children understand, letters, number and the working of the human body as well as aspects of plant life. We were also able to make a small donation to another school that we visted, to help with their re-furbishment. At the end the headmistress thank us via an interpreter: she was really pleased and we all received scarves with local prayers on them.
