Year 1 Explore Italian Culture
Year 1 pupils at Stamford Junior School have been learning about the different countries in the world by following the travels of Barnaby the Bear.
This week, Barnaby visited Italy so the children located the capital city and other major Italian cities on a map and then learnt about Italian traditions. The highlight of the lesson was Mrs McDermott showing the children, and then helping them to have a go at, making spaghetti using a pasta maker! The children had great fun putting the mixture through the machine to produce long strings of spaghetti and then hanging it up to ‘dry’ before it was cooked and sampled by the children. Everyone agreed that homemade spaghetti is the best!
