Pupils Build Go-Karts for National Project
Year 6 pupils at Stamford Junior School are building their own GoKarts to race against local schools as part of Greenpower’s IET Formula Goblin project.
Greenpower Education Trust’s objective is to advance education in the subjects of sustainable engineering and technology to young people. In an attempt to inspire an interest in STEM subjects the trust set up the IET Formula Goblin project. The project offers young people the opportunity to design and build a real racing car whilst covering key aspects such as electronics, friction, forces and materials.
Cummins Generator Technologies and the SJS PTA provided the starter kits our Year 6 pupils, who have just started constructing their own Go- Karts and will be racing them against local schools at RAF Wittering later in the year.
