SES Medals at National Gymnastics Championships
During the weekend of the 12th and 13th November, four teams of Stamford Endowed Schools’ gymnasts travelled to St Mary's School, Gerrards Cross to compete in the ISGA National 2 piece Championships.
All gymnasts had to compete a Set Floor routine and a Voluntary Vault. The over 13 team performed well and were unlucky to narrowly miss out on a medal, finishing in fourth place. Both the U10 and U11 teams looked strong and were up against some tough opposition. However they stayed calm, competed with no major errors and both teams finished third in their age categories, receiving the bronze medals.
The final team to perform were the U13 teams, many of whom had been part of the winning U11 team in the event last year. Once again, their talent shone through and they topped the pile, winning the championships.
Individual honours went to Evalyn Dickie-Meadows, Hannah Forrester, Daisy Fox, Emily Cornelius and Elysée Mordel, all of whom finished in the top 6 of their age categories.
A special mention also to Isabella Plant who competed separately to the rest of the U13 team – not an easy feat- as she had to travel to Ipswich to represent Cambridgeshire County Gymnastics in a regional event.
