Tudor Day at Burghley House for Y5s
On June 11th Stamford Junior School Year 5 pupils enjoyed a fantastic Tudor Day at Burghley House.
Dressed in Tudor costume, they learned about their medicines and cures from the scary Dr Mort. Additionally they were told of the great differences food wealthy Tudors enjoyed compared to that of poorer Tudors.
They were then treated to a tour of the house, their enjoyment almost tangible with the cries of, 'it was so big!' 'The pans in the kitchen were so heavy!' 'How did they do those incredible paintings on the ceilings?' Finally the pupils had fun in the Sculpture Garden and Garden of Surprises, to end a fabulous day.
