Junior School Girl Plays Viola for War Heroes
Nine-year-old Stamford Junior School student Rosie Harvey raised £250 for Help the Heroes by playing her Viola at the Stamford Meadows.
Kind-hearted Rosie - who recently acheived a merit in her Grade Two Viola exam - decided she wanted to do her bit for charity and played six performances for delighted passers-by during her Summer Holidays.
After passing over the money to Lincolnshire co-ordinator for Help the Heroes Tessa Bruce, proud parents Celia and John, of Stamford, who said Rosie was inspired by their time in the army, commented "People were incredibly generous and she raised nearly £250, which is a lot for someone her age. We are extremely proud of her for doing this on her own and I think she's keen to do more fundraising."
