Local business leaders talk to Y13
The latest careers seminar at Stamford School saw local business leaders help Y13 students prepare for life after school as they discussed topics such as budgeting and lettings.
The Y13s welcomed guests from Barclays Bank and representatives from local estate agents including Old Stamfordian, Paul Johnson (Director of Paul Johnson Property Consultants) and Old Girl, Lesley Mitchel (Lettings Director of Watson & Mitchel.) The students took part in a budgeting exercise looking at the cost of going to University, and then attended the sessions presented by the visitors. Mark Kerr and Jill Francis from Barclays Bank helped the students grasp the complexities of bank accounts and banking terminology. Then Paul and Lesley delivered a presentation about the responsibilities and rights of both tenants and landlords.
