A-Level Students Celebrate their Results
Students at the Stamford Endowed Schools are again celebrating strong A’ level examination results.
Overall the 201 students gained grades of A*, A, B or C in 87% of their examinations up from 84% in 2013. The percentage of A*, A and B grades also increased with 70% A* - B being achieved. Of the 600 A’ level exams taken, a pleasing 232 resulted in either A* or A grades. 41 students (about one in five of all students) gained at least three A grades.
Stephen Roberts, Principal of the Endowed Schools, said "I would like to congratulate the students on their exam results. Overall the results have been strong, significantly higher than last year and set against a background of changes in the A Level examination system which has led to some lower grades nationally. There were many outstanding individual performances which are the culmination of two years’ hard work. I would also like to thank the teaching staff for their professionalism and dedication. With rising university fees, students are thinking more about the benefit of university and it is very pleasing that the vast majority of our students who have applied will have gained a place at university. For those pursuing other paths, their good grades and broad education will give them a strong advantage in the job market. I wish all of our departing students every success in the next stage of their educational journey."
