Year 7 Excel at Extended Project Challenge
On Monday 23rd March, eight finalists for Mrs Powell’s Year 7 Extended Project Challenge presented their projects to a panel including school governors Dr Richardson and Mrs Hammant, and Mrs Johnson and Mrs Powell. All Year 7 pupils had been given the option to enter the EPC with a choice of three titles: Inspirational women; Where does inspiration come from, and classroom of the future. The Projects could be submitted in any medium and entries ranged from models, collections of essays, drama pieces to creating a website. The level of work from all finalists was outstanding and congratulations to the following; Poppy Fleming, Hannah Pook, Sofia Welch, Evie Armes, Breanna Tye, Darcey Sharpe, Katarina Kemp, Alexa Toon, Katy McCarthy, Millie Murison, Isabel Hudson, Megan Bolton and Josie Rule.
Poppy Fleming and Hannah Pook were joint winners with their independent entries of classroom of the future and collection of essays on inspirational women past, present and future. Highly commended certificates were also awarded to Sofia Welch and Evie Armes for their excellent drama piece on the Queen Elizabeth’s and to Breanna Tye for her original website on Marie Curie.
