Pupils Enjoy Artistic Activity Morning
Last weekend as part of the Junior School’s activity programme, 15 children took part in an artistic morning with the theme, ‘A rainbow of colour.’
The pupils took part in two mini projects, creating a plaque with painted slogan and painting a glass jar or bottle. First, the children sanded their individual piece of plywood that would eventually become their plaque. Then everyone painted their plaque with a base coat (or two) of white acrylic paint.
Whilst the paint was drying, the pupils listened to an introduction on how to use glass paints and then they began personalising a glass bottle or jar. A range of colours were available and the pupils were encouraged to be as colourful and creative as possible.
The pupils then returned to creating their plaques and slogans were carefully drawn on them using acrylic paints.
