SES Team’s Best Ever Result at BSDRA Championships
On Saturday 16th, the BSDRA Easterns, one of the largest events of the school sailing calendar, took place with two SES teams in the mix.
BSDRA, the British Schools Dinghy Racing Association, looks to promote the sport of sailing within schools and their annual regional and national championships are the main sailing events for schools.
The Stamford Endowed Schools, for the first time, entered two teams into the competitions, containing boys and girls from Year 7 through to 13. Despite tough competition Stamford Port succeeded in securing 3rd place, the best ever position that an SES team has attained at this event.
The teams were:
(Stamford Port) Samuel Leedham (Year 12) (captain), Alex Middleton (Year 9), James Leetch (Year 11), Jemima Leedham (Year 10), Thomas Proffitt (Year 11) and Jessica Flint (Year 8).
(Stamford Starboard) Ed Whattoff (Year 12) (captain), Molly Naylor (Year 12), William Spiegl (Year 11), Kata Kemp (Year 7), James Hayes (Year 11) and Francesca Pye (Year 13).
