Stamford School Host Evergreen Care Trust
Stamford School hosted the annual Evergreen Care Trust tea party at the end of the summer term. The Evergreen Care Trust is a local charity which provides services for the elderly in order to keep them independent for as long as possible.
The students invited local residents to enjoy an afternoon of food and entertainment. There were around 55 guests in total, many of whom were residents of South Kesteven District care homes.
Helen Chew, charity co-ordinator at Stamford School, said “The event was very successful and it was lovely to see how charming our young charity prefects were with our guests.”
Evergreen client, Mrs Boreham, said: “From the gracious way in which we were received, the lovely sandwiches, scones and cakes, the talented musical entertainment and the most interesting conversations we were able to have with some of the girls and boys – it was splendid and truly heart-warming.”
