Student Represents Country at Commonwealth Games

Recent leaver from Stamford School, George Cox, is currently in Samoa with Team England, competing in Rugby 7s at the Commonwealth Youth Games 2015.

The Commonwealth Youth Games started in 2000, and has seen the likes of Jessica Ennis-Hill, Beth Tweddle and Louis Smith moving through its ranks. This year the games are taking place in Samoa.

George Cox, played a crucial part in the Fist XV team at Stamford School. Last year, the team went unbeaten in their season, and George helped get them to the Semi-Finals of the NatWest Schools Cup. He is now playing for Team England at the Commonwealth Youth Games, with playoffs on Wednesday 9th and Thursday 10th September, and finals on Friday 11th. England got off to a positive start, winning their first match against Namibia.

On his return from Samoa, George has signed with Nottingham Rugby for the upcoming season.
