Hockey U14s are Regional Champions
On Tuesday 8th March the Stamford School U14s boys Hockey team emerged victorious from the East Final Hockey Tournament.
During the opening match of the finals against Bishop Stortford, the boys raced into a three nil lead in the first half with goals from Joey Evison x2 and Harry Smith. The second started poorly with two Stamford boys being sinbinned and Bishops scoring two goals. With the game finely poised the Stamford boys showed their quality with a great team goal finished by centre midfielder Harry Tidswell. The match ended 4 -2 Stamford with a tough Framlingham side to play.
In the final the boys took full control of the game from the first whistle, with George Howard scoring in under two minutes. Another two goals followed from Joey Evison and Charlie Foster to seal the win and put the team through to consecutive National Hockey Finals as the East Schools hockey champions.
Prior to the finals the team qualified from their section after being pitted against The Perse School, Forest School and Haberdasher Boys School. The team went unbeaten allowing them to advance.
