Students to compete in Burghley Rat Race

rat race browne house stamfordOne of Stamford Endowed Schools’ boarding houses, Browne House, has entered a team to compete in the Burghley Rat Race on Saturday 7th May, with the aim of raising valuable funds for #teamgeorge.

The course consists of 20 miles and over 200 obstacles making it the world’s biggest obstacle course. Eddie Robinson, George’s younger brother who has been staying in the boarding house this year, is one of the nineteen Stamford School students running.

Each of the runners has pledged to raise a minimum of £100 in sponsorship.

The team are hoping to raise over £5000 for #teamgeorge and a ‘justgiving’ page has been set up where donations can be made. This can be found here:

Browne Housemaster, Leigh Ware said; “The rat race is a fantastic challenge for our sixth form boarders who have been training hard and will need to work together, support and help each other– exactly what boarding at Stamford School is all about. We hope the local community and beyond will support us on the day and in our bid to raise over £5000 for #teamgeorge”
