Year 7 Students Visit Warwick Castle
On Thursday 16th June Year 7 students from Stamford High School visited Warwick Castle as part of their history studies. The students discovered the original Motte and Bailey castle, as well as walking the walls and climbing the towers of the greatly enlarged castle that remains today. The Gaol and recently discovered Bear Tower with original pit were explored as well as the lifelike waxwork exhibition of the castle preparing for war. The students were treated to the firing of the spectacular trebuchet, the Birds of Prey show and an interesting demonstration in character by the Bowman. History teacher at the High School, Amanda Rackham said: "The girls learning in school on castles was greatly enriched and a very enjoyable day was had by everyone."
