Sixth Form St Martin's Society
The student led Sixth Form St Martin’s Society have had another successful term with presentations and debate on a range of topical issues. The topics have included 'a teenage guide to sleep', 'the impact of television on modern life' and 'Eastern vs Western education systems'. The sessions involve the students presenting issues from numerous perspectives, giving everyone an opportunity to reflect and comment.
Mrs Victoria Saunders said: “St Martin’s is an excellent forum for students to test out their presentation skills; it gives an opportunity for a wide variety of topics to be discussed in a tolerant and critically constructive academic environment. Students develop questioning skills and improve their critical thinking approaches, skills which are invaluable in university interviews and in their future careers.”
