SHS Rowers Take to the Water
Stamford High School students have recently been learning to row on Teardrop Lake in Peterborough at the newly established Hereward Rowing Club.
Despite some gales in the first session - and a few unplanned capsize drills - the girls have made great progress and can now row effectively in both singles and doubles.
Skills of resilience, collaboration and persistence have been shown in abundance and the girls’ strength and stamina from indoor rowing training has been put to very good use.
Stamford High School teacher Mrs Saunders commented, “Even myself and Mrs Bewers have taken to the water! Well done to all the girls involved.”
