Book your tickets for the triennial Malcolm Sargent Concert
The Stamford Endowed Schools, in conjunction with the Stamford Choral Society, are staging the triennial Malcolm Sargent Concert in commemoration of his legacy at the De Montfort Hall in Leicester on Saturday 23rd March at 7pm.
This year’s concert – St. John’s Passion by Bach - will be performed by 200 singers from the combined choirs of Stamford Endowed Schools and Stamford Choral Society, a professional orchestra and soloists.
Malcolm Sargent was an old boy of Stamford School and town. In his day, he was regarded as one of the most famous conductors across the world. He was incredibly influential both as a musician and public figure. He was regularly seen with the great and the good and gained international acclaim. He was committed to the School throughout his life and there is a very interesting exhibition in the Town Hall on his life in the Town Hall.
