High School pupils put on a performance
A-Level Performance Studies students from Stamford High School delighted an audience of family and friends with a performance at Barn Hill Trinity Methodist Church on the evenings of Friday 3rd and Wednesday 8th February.
The evenings featured work devised by the students as part of their A-Level course. The pieces of theatre had a community-based stimulus – The George Hotel and The Stamford Tunnels - and combined elements of drama, music and dance.
Short witty vignettes of drama were seamlessly intertwined with music and dance. The dance was an energetic mix of modern dance, ballet and physical theatre and was choreographed to some impressive pieces of music and songs composed entirely by the students.
Performance Studies teacher Nicola Watson said “The performances were a joy to watch and the pupils were a credit to themselves and to The Endowed Schools.”
