Stamford School Supporting Matt!
The Stamford School under 14s Sevens squad have been invited to compete at Leicester Tigers in a tournament which is supported by the Tigers Community team and the Matt Hampson Foundation. Eight teams from across the region will participate in the tournament that takes place on the 1st June. The teams will be raising money for the foundation and there will be prizes for the best fundraising individuals.
The Matt Hampson Foundation is a charity that was set up to inspire and support young people who are seriously injured in sport. Matt, an ex-Leicester Tiger and international rugby player is a truly inspirational character who, following a tragic sporting accident is paralysed from the neck down. Since the accident Matt has dedicated his life to young people who may find themselves in a similar situation.
As well as competing, the under 14s team will be raising money for the foundation by selling the MHF wristbands. They are priced at just £1 and are available from the school shop. Please pop in whilst passing and buy one.
