A-level students gain excellent results

Students at the Stamford Endowed Schools - Stamford School (boys) and Stamford High School (girls) - are again celebrating outstanding A level examination results.

Overall the 187 students gained top grades of A*, A or B in 72% of their examinations. 41% of examinations taken were passed at A* and A grade and an impressive 91% of examinations were passed at A, B or C grade standard. This is the third year of the A* at A level and 61 were gained.  Out of the total of 187 students, 43 (about one in four of all students) gained at least three A grades.

Stephen Roberts, Principal of the Endowed Schools, said "I am again delighted by the performance of our Sixth Form students. These exceptional results are the culmination of hard-work and determination from our highly motivated students and the support and dedication of our teaching staff. With rising university fees, students are thinking more about the benefit of university and it is very pleasing that the vast majority of our students who have applied will have gained a place at university. For those pursuing other paths, their excellent grades and broad education will give them a strong advantage in the job market. I am very proud of all of our students and our teaching staff for maintaining our high academic standards, and I wish all of our departing students every success in the next stage of their educational journey."

The Sixth Form open evening will take place on Tuesday 16th October 2012 and will give students and their families an insight into what makes our Sixth Form so special.
