Year 6 Pupils enjoy a lesson in bread-making!
Year 6 pupils have started their academic year learning about micro-organisms in the world around them. To tie in with their science topic, Hambleton Bakery’s master baker, Julian Carter, and his colleague Mrs Durose came to visit the school. They taught the children all about yeast and the ancient craft of bread-making.
Mrs Helen Britton said, “The children loved tasting the different breads and were amazed at how yeast spores are simply captured from the air around us, or even the froth on beer! We are very grateful to our visitors who helped us to learn more about this fascinating topic.”
