SJS Enjoy October Camping!
Last weekend, pupils from Years 4-6 took part in some outdoor adventures followed by camping. Unfortunately, the wet October weather meant that the ‘outdoor camping’ became a mass sleepover in the School Hall!
The day involved lots of varied activities including ‘hunt the animal’; where the children set out to find koalas and crocodiles in the bottom field of SJS! Everyone then enjoyed a walk around Fineshade woods with den-building and climbing in the adventure playground. A highlight was making ‘super smores’ (a typed of melted marshmallow) and singing around the campfire.
Michelle Hewett, Junior School Teacher said “Many of the new Junior School pupils tried out this activity weekend and found it a fun and quick way of making new friends across the year groups.”
