SJS have the L Factor!
Stamford Junior School pupils competed in the ‘L Factor’ as their own topical take on literacy week. The L Factor commenced with an assembly prepared by 6W who performed a spoof playlet on the theme of the X Factor. In their imaginary world the X Factor had been booted off the TV and the L Factor was to replace it.
The pupils were shown a short film about a boy in the dinosaur gallery of a science museum. This was the inspiration for a story that the children then had to go away and write, unaided by their teachers. The children’s stories were then judged by their peers at ‘Boot Camp’ and the winners went through to the final that took place in assembly on Friday. These stories were then judged by the X Factor judges Gary Barlow, Gary Barlow and Gary Barlow, aka Mr. Headley, Reverend Goodman and Mr. Mills.
The winners were Eliana Scarborough in reception, Abigail McKee in Y1 and Ruby Sumner in Y2. In Y3/4 Joseph Saunders and Y5/6 Grace Baldry won.
