Chocolate comes to life at Cadbury World
Fifty two Y4 children visited Cadbury World in Birmingham as part of their current studies into solids and liquids in Science and the Aztecs in History.
They enjoyed eleven different ‘learning zones’, including a Central American rainforest, a Victorian England shop scene, re-enactment films and holograms of the original Cadbury family members and the chocolate-making process. During the factory tour the group learnt in fine detail about the process of making chocolate, from bean to final product.
After sampling some liquid chocolate, and trying to add unique ingredients to it, children were given an excellent 45 minute educational talk, re-capping their classroom learning about Aztecs, Aztec society, and the importance of chocolate to the Aztecs.
