Combined Cadet Force Inspection Parade
On Friday 3rd May cadets from the Stamford Endowed Schools’ Combined Cadet Force (CCF) took part in their biennial Inspection Day. Over 300 cadets from the Army, Royal Navy and RAF sections of the CCF assembled on the School’s main field to be inspected by Colonel Peter Christian OBE.
The cadets marched onto the field in front of the cricket pavilion and Colonel Christian inspected the senior cadets, some of whom are hoping to join the armed forces when they leave school. Other visiting officers from the Royal Navy, Army and Royal Air Force inspected the younger cadets. After a march-past and salute to the Colonel by the senior cadets, all the cadets were involved in afternoon activities which ranged from navigation exercises in the Royal Navy section, the RAF shooting on the range and the Army section partaking in camouflage and concealment, as well as many other events. The many visitors observed and admired the activities as they were shown round by the senior cadets. The Inspecting Officer, Colonel Christian, was very complimentary about the whole contingent; their appearance, their drill and their enthusiasm.
Lt Cdr Holland, the Contingent Commander, said: “I am extremely proud of the cadets and what they have achieved, not only on Inspection Day, but throughout the year. I would like to thank the section officers and civilian helpers very much for their hard work and commitment.”
