Y3 Have a Safety Lesson at ‘Hazard Alley’
Year 3 pupils at Stamford Junior School enjoyed a trip to the Safety Centre in Milton Keynes last Tuesday. They learnt about how to identify hazardous situations and developed ways to respond safely. The children were fully involved in observing the dangers in the home, a building site, by a river and on the roads and train tracks.
The pupils had to dial ‘999’ to the operator to ask for assistance for various scenarios, they were surprised to discover that they were being filmed whilst doing this so they were able to see their reactions and responses once they returned to the classroom! Year 3 are doing a lot of follow up work on the various places where they need to think about staying safe.
