SES Host Sixth Form German Day
The SES German department hosted a day for Sixth Form Germanists with visitors from seven local schools. 40 students took part in a seminar on the German film 'Good Bye, Lenin!', conducted by Dr Maike Oergel (University of Nottingham), followed by a workshop on aspects of German grammar, led by Mr Paul Stocker (British-German Association). The day was rounded off with a talk from Professor Rüdiger Görner (Queen Mary University London), who addressed not only the Sixth Formers, but also students studying German in Years 9, 10 and 11 on career opportunities that studying German offers. The day was very beneficial and was enjoyed by all.
