First XV Claim Home Victory

Stamford v Norwich Stamford School's First XV produced a fine attacking display to claim their first home victory of the 2013 season over Norwich School. The home side were solid at set piece and were able to launch wave after wave of attack as they retained the ball for long periods of time. Great work from the back row of Cox, Collett and Pirrie kept Stamford going forward and all players played their part in a convincing 46-5 victory. Tom Roper was the key beneficiary scoring a hat track of tries on his First XV home debut.

Coach David Laventure was pleased but cautious: “The boys played some very expansive rugby and should be happy, but there is still a great deal of work to do as tougher tests await!”
