Clean sweep in Hockey against Bedford Modern

hockey A superb standard of hockey was on display at Stamford High School this weekend with comfortable wins across the board for all age groups. The High School teams came up against Bedford Modern School at home which is always a good test of skill and character on the pitch.

The 1st XI beat Bedford Modern convincingly with a 9-0 victory while the 2nd XI came away with a 4-0 win. The U15 A’s claimed their first win of the season with a 3-1 score line whilst the super talented U14’s continued their winning streak and put 5 goals past their opponents, eventually winning 5-0.

Lucy Hornby, Head of Hockey at Stamford High School, said: “It was a brilliant weekend all round for the hockey teams and although this is a great confidence boost for all teams, our next fixture is against Felsted which will be a challenge. Lots of hard work and focus on the training pitch is on the agenda this week for potentially the biggest test we will face this season.”
